Please be advised that this recent blizzard has severely effected the High School hockey game schedule. As a result our ice times may be effected over the next few weeks, with make up games taking precedence over our practice schedule. We ask for you patience and encourage you to check the website frequently as we may be making last minute changes to the practice/ skills schedule. We will make every effort to provide our members with timely notifications of cancelations/changes to the schedule but we are at the mercy of the rinks providing us the details in a timely manner. Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding with this matter. If you have not signed up to receive email or text notifications for your child's schedule please be sure to keep a close eye on the website for any potential changes.
Attached is a link to an article recently published by the MA High School Hockey Association. It is important to remember town hockey programs work, they are affordable and if your player is that good they will find a good High School and go from there. Leagues, overseeing bodies are not the problem or the solution, parents need the facts to help them make a real decision. The chance of any player going D1 is in the 1% range and if your son/daughter cannot make his/her High School team and no player on that team is going D1 then why would you as a parent drop $8k to go juniors? Parents need to be reminded constantly that the objective of youth hockey is to prepare your son or daughter to tryout for High School Hockey, from there God given talent, hard work and luck will dictate what the future holds. Being on any High School team is special and you along with your child should enjoy the ride and remember the education is what matters!
